Maybe you‘ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance on the anniversary of 40 years of marriage. Dance!

Get to know your parents.
It is impossible to predict when they‘ll be gone forever
Be nice to your siblings. They‘re your best link to your past
and possibly those who stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but never let go of a precious few.

Live in New York once, but leave before you freeze.
Live in Hawaii once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.

Be careful whose advice you buy,
but be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the trash, wiping it off,
painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.”
